Insurance Agent

Apply Now!

We're searching for another energetic and motivated Licensed Insurance Agent to help manage our US growth! Smart Bunny is transforming the insurance industry by giving North Americans effortless access to personal lines of insurance through a mobile app. We’re eliminating unnecessary complexities built into the sale of policies, making transactions clear, quick and convenient, enabling our customers to purchase on their phone or other mobile device in a matter of minutes.

Your success in this role comes from your passion for helping people and your knowledgeable approach. You have strong social skills and genuinely believe it’s fun interacting with new people. You’re good at making real connections with potential customers because you have great listening skills. Once you know what a customer needs, you take pride in being able to personalize a policy to those needs.

Most of your day is spent on the phone, calling leads, handling inbound calls, chats and emails. You never pressure customers into buying a policy, but you’re also not scared to ask for the sale. Dealing with a variety of customers, you tailor your interaction to the situation at hand.... and if challenges arise during a call, you take ownership and find graceful ways to deal with them.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

Working remotely from a location of your choosing, you are the first and main point of contact for both potential and existing customers. As such, you have many important responsibilities, including:

  • Making outbound calls to customers who have received targeted marketing materials or who have completed quotes in the Goose app (warm or HOT leads, no cold-calling).
  • Handling a high volume of inbound calls from customers in a prompt and professional manner.
  • Assessing customer needs, providing quotes, and ultimately selling policies.
  • Promoting Goose and encouraging customers to do the same.
  • Responding to online chat and email inquiries from customers.
  • Helping customers make changes to their policies, and processing refund requests.
  • Maintaining your training and industry knowledge.
  • Assisting with training and developing future agents in the US.

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS

As a member of the Goose team, you have a desire to direct your own work to achieve the responsibilities of your role. You do this by becoming an expert at what you do, and by working with a team that has a broader purpose than just making profit. Those who you work with would describe you as someone who:

  • Enjoys working with others and has a passion for helping customers.
  • Loves selling
  • Delivers excellent customer service and possesses strong telephone skills.
  • Communicates effectively when speaking with, or writing to, others.
  • You must have excellent written and spoken English, as almost 100% of the job is working with customers by phone and by email.
  • Uses active listening and questioning skills to understand needs and issues.
  • Takes a consultative approach to selling.
  • Handles objections and deals with rejection well.
  • Works well under pressure, both independently and as part of a team.
  • Pays close attention to detail.
  • Uses sound judgement in making decisions and taking calculated risks.
  • Adapts well to, and often initiates, change.
  • Enjoys personal development and growth through learning.
  • Provides and receives constructive feedback.

YOUR EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

  • At least 3 to 5 years of customer sales and service experience, preferably in a call centre environment and in management or team lead capacity.
  • At least 1 year of tenure with a recent employer.
  • A high school diploma and, preferably, some post-secondary education.
  • Must be licensed in Life, Property, Casualty, and Travel in the state of Washington, additional licensing in other States an asset.

YOUR COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

Goose tailors your compensation and benefits in the same way it tailors policies for its customers. Your very competitive compensation and benefits plan includes:

  • Competitive salary
  • 3-weeks Vacation
  • Health Insurance Allowance
  • In-house training as well as relevant external training, both paid by Goose.
  • If you are interested in this position, please apply with your resume and cover letter.
